About Us

The FCAD Forum for Cultural Strategies aims to become the foremost hub for designing and sharing actionable strategies to support the cultural sector in Canada. The goal of the FCAD forum is to inform and improve decision-making at all levels in the cultural industries through dialogue, research and dissemination.

Our Research

At the FCAD Forum, we are addressing important questions of cultural policy and cultural strategy through a combination of activities: facilitating dialogue among diverse parties on the one hand, and commissioning and undertaking original research on the other. We provide trustworthy information, actionable strategies and balanced answers to important questions facing the cultural sector.

    Cultural Policy Fellow
    ​I​rene Berkowitz is a media policy expert focused on the Canadian media system's transition to the online era. Her perspectives are often requested by publications including The Globe and Mail, Playback, CBC, and betakit.
  • Jean Bruce

    Member
    Dr. Jean Bruce's education, research and publication involve multiculturalism and sexuality in Canadian cinema; early cinema in Quebec; ethnographic cinema; and currently, reality television in trans/national contexts.
  • Ben Barry

    Member
    Using design and art-informed approaches, he unleashes fashion as a research context to explore, engage and empower communities on issues of identity and social justice.
